With Durga Puja just round the corner, an apt choice to wear this season is a Dhakai Sari from Bengal.
Like Chanderi, a good Dhakai also looks exquisitely beautiful. Some people think that such fluffy saris are difficult to manage or makes them look bigger or are meant for very thin people.
I can manage them very well. I never ever put any pins on my saris (just because I do not want to poke and prick them and dig holes in them) and I manage such fluffy saris with ease. Yesterday, I saw someone draped in white on white Dhakai sari. Unlike mine, it was completely filled with the white work. I think it looked gorgeous. (Another must have for me- got to have it now).
The pictures below have been shot by my husband dear. While I do appreciate the effort, but I think, I click better pictures of myself. Besides I am less self conscious when it is just me and my camera fooling around. So I smile more genuinely unlike the plastic and restrained smiles I am giving in the pictures below.
Verdict:
I am more comfortable when I am driving myself.
I am more comfortable when I am clicking myself.
While dressing up, I was thinking, off late, I have done many posts in blues- Turquoise blue, royal blue, etc. Also I am doing a sari post after a long gap. With festive season approaching, maybe I will do more sari posts now.
This week probably I will be more regular posting blogs. I have many fun plans lined up. How is your weekend?
