The Indian Wedding

In a span of one day, there were so many fuctions. Starting from Ring Ceremony, to Chooda, to Wedding. Both the guy's and girl's ceremonies were happening in the same venue. This was ring ceremony and then the couple came out to intermingle with the guests. Mehar Bhasin was the emcee of the program. The guy went on his knees to put a ring to the girl, who looked like a doll.
They both looked completely made for each other. Very young and charming.

Dressed in gold Sari is the bride's mother. She is as thin and pretty as the bride herself.

Here she sat for her Chooda ceremony. After which she went to get ready for the wedding ceremony which was to be held at night.

Bath Castle, Ludhiana

The wedding took place in a venue called Bath Castle in Ludhiana. What a magnificent place it was. The grandeur of the place had to be seen to be believed. It was an extravagant wedding. The venue was befitting for the wedding of Kings and Queens. It had an old world charm, yet in a very modern and elegant way. Ceremonies started in a bright sunny winter afternoon and went on till late at night. It was a splendid space and wonderful people.
I am very impressed with how elegantly people in Ludhiana dress up in exquisite designer finery, that spells nothing but class. All of them are ultra fit and health conscious.
There was a live band of girls playing wonderful music. Vast array of food of different cuisines was spread out. Each table had exquisite flower arrangement. Every arrangement was just so perfect. The guests were so well looked after. It was a very impressive wedding that I attended.

Hotel Park Plaza, Ludhiana

Hotel Park Plaza is supposedly the best hotel in Ludhiana. My personal rating is 2/5. I am not too impressed with the rooms, service, decor, etc.

We reached late at night. I took 5 hours to drive from Delhi to Ludhiana. All the roads
are under construction. We still managed to attend the Mehendi function at night. Were thoroughly exhausted and crashed. These pictures are of next morning, when I had just woken up. We had to get ready for the festivities of the wedding.

Jamawar Saree on our anniversary.

As stated in my earlier post, 3rd Dec was my 20th Wedding Anniversary.
20 years passed like a dream. 20 years back, I could not have imagined, what we would be doing 20 years ahead. On 3rd December, we had to leave for a road trip to Ludhiana. We had a wedding to attend. But the catch was that on our way, we had to first attend another wedding in Delhi. Which meant, that I dress up in all my finery attend a wedding in Delhi and we spend our 20th wedding anniversary on a long drive together, to Ludhiana. As stated earlier, I am a panicky co passenger and an excellent driver. So I happily took over the wheels and we drove together, after attending this first wedding. We got to spend some hours with each other during this long drive away from our busy work schedules.

This is what I wore for the first wedding and during our drive.

It is a Jamawar Saree. When buying a true and pure Jamawar Saree, look on the backside. You will find an array of threads. That is how this pure silk Sari is woven along with a gold thread.

Today I wore it for a power lunch. Huge event was being planned.
