Megu in Leela Palace

Megu is a Japanese restaurant in Leela hotel, Chanakyapuri, Delhi.
Megu at The Leela Palace New Delhi marks a turning point in fine dining in the capital. A big call perhaps, but its modern Japanese cuisine creates new expectations in terms of ingredients, dishes and decor. Megu is regarded as one the world’s best Japanese restaurant.
The experience is quintessentially Japanese with many ingredients imported from Tsukiji market in Tokyo. The restaurant uses sumibi aburiyaki—a grilling technique using a special charcoal found only near Kyoto called bincho-tan and prized for its superior purifying properties.
Signature dishes include Megu Oriental Salad, Megu Original Crispy Asparagus. I got so many Vegan options here. I was impressed. The wine list has over 600 labels and 60 varieties of sake from Japan - available by the glass or bottle.
Take a closer look at the decorations. White porcelain columns are made from 5,000 interlocking rice bowls and sake vases; 450 rolls of antique kimono fabric adorn the walls. White leather banquets with soaring eleven-foot backs provide an intimate setting for pre-dinner cocktails.
The Megu philosophy is sophisticated organic dining in which the producer and the customer are brought together in celebration.
