Finally I saw Sex and the City 2. Interesting thing was, that we were four women, seeing the story of four women. Whatever the reviews, I liked the movie and everything about it. It had beautiful dresses, bags, shoes, hats etc etc.
For that matter, I found subtle messages also in the movie. It conveyed how to keep the spark/sparkle of marriage alive. Carrie's honesty for Big was endearing. When she kissed Aiden for less than a minute, she could not rest at peace till she told this not only to her friends but even Big. Big also had a big heart to understand her.
Charlotte, being true, loving, affectionate mother, still needed a break. Motherhood is not very rosy. Samantha and her histrionics were hilarious. Four of the women have aged and no bones are being made about it. Unlike Bollywood, they are not hiding their age with Botox and face lifts. I liked this about the movie and its characters. There were bigger than life sets of gay wedding (complete with swans and a lovely song), Abu Dhabi hotel, Maybach, private suits in the aircraft. It all had a grand opulence. Overall a great watch.
Over to fashion now. Ranna Gill's latest collection for dresses is awesome. I am holding myself back to go there again because I know I have liked so many dresses from her collection, that it will be "simply irresistable" for me to stop and not buy more.
Similarly, I have also liked the holii collection (bags)from Hidesign. I bought it from Delhi airport but now they are also retailing from stores.
There are few bags, that are worthy of mention here. I saw a Da Milano bag. Click on the link to view the image. It is exact replica of Birkin. And when I say "exact", it truly is the identical copy. And the Da Milano bag is not cheap (Yes way cheaper than Birkin). It is priced at Rs. 8000/-. They claim that it is pure Italian leather and style. Interesting.
