The prettiest bride

I need to show you the picture of the prettiest bride I have ever seen.

These are the pictures of my sister in her wedding outfit. In India, the bride wears colors like red, maroon, pink, gold, orange. But rarely does a bride wears such hues like blues, lilac, mauve. And these are definitely my sister's favorite colors. When we were hunting for her wedding dress, we wanted it to be outstandingly different, very classy, evergreen, ornate, not over embellished. Indian brides do not look fresh, unlike christian brides. They are pressed under heavy weight of their wedding lehenga, which normally weighs 10 kg and above. To top it, they also have heavy, head bun, flowers, bangles, jewellery, tons of make up and they look....Aaahhh...lemme yaawnnn. So we wanted something that she could use again without a fuss, we certainly did not want a cheap embroidery of sequins, zari etc (we have an aversion to it). We wanted something rich, good silhouette and an attire in which she looked like a princess or a fairy. She also wanted something that she could wear as a gown outside India (Something very contemporary), a corset, that she could even wear over her jeans or skirt. So here we got what she dreamt of. (Another good/bad habit of my sister- She dreams/envisions a thing and then goes around town looking for it. And she even gets it).

Everyone who saw her in her wedding attire, said that they had never seen a prettier bride and a prettier outfit. It was outstandingly beautiful.

She put blue and purple orchids in her hair. Even her wedding garland was of purple orchids. Her bangles (chooda) too was special mauve color.
Outfit: Suneet Verma
Embellished only with original Swarovski

  1. Thank You Thank You Thank You! Yes, even I love my wedding dress. To all the readers: Between me and my sister, there was an unsaid pact, that all my birthday dresses used to be her creation. And so when it came to the wedding dress, who else would I go to for dreaming it and designing it. She envisioned it, knowing my favorite colors and luckily we found it at Suneet Verma's. Yes, I do have this habit of envisioning something (be it a dress, or my oragnizing shelves for the hostel) and I would make my sister or mom go around town hunting for it, explaining to everyone what we want, either finding it or creating it ourselves in the process. No wonder they say sisters can be a pain in the ass:)
As for this lehenga, unlike most wedding dresses which get worn only once or twice, I've actually worn mine quite a few times - and it easily blends into western functions as well as Indian ones and everywhere I've worn it, people have really raved about it. So full paisa wasool on this one:) Thanks Di!
