Chanderi Sari


Am wearing a  Chanderi Sari 

I don't know why, but I love wearing saris. In the rapid roar of the fashion mainstream it is something uniquely elegant, captivating and incredibly comfortable to wear, something that never goes out of style and will always fit you. Nothing can and never will fit you quite like the sari fits itself to you with your own hands and experience with your own body.
The more I know, the more I learn to love so many subtleties of this textile. The delicate ornaments of each type of sari, the subtle weight and textural differences in the cloth and then there is the fine color sense of the weavers. There is more variety of color in interesting combinations to be found in this textile pallette than any other dress fashion available today.

    What a beautiful sari! My sister-in-law married a man from India and wears them to all the functions. I love seeing her in them. So lady-like and elegant.

    Loved all your posts on different types of weaves in India..I love wearing sarees. They bring out the femininity in a woman unlike any other piece of clothing. Though one thing I've never seen on your blog is, Organza. I'm not sure whether you dislike the gauzy fabric or have not experimented with it, but they are great for summer evenings..looks so elegant especially in pastels..would love to see one on you!

    I love how Indian women continue to wear traditional clothing like saris. It's almost sad how these days almost everyone is dressing "western." Wouldn't it be cool if Korean women started wearing hanboks again?
