Get Alive

Few days back I had written this post , about whether to stagnate or emancipate in life. I met a very impressive gentleman today. I had gone to the Apple store (Mac) and there I saw this elder person, who must be 80-85 year old or rather more. He was talking to the service guys of the store and talking complete technical stuff. Hardware, software, memory, drive etc etc. Now I got very inquisitive and  leaving all shame aside, I gaped at him awestruck and even listened intently to the intelligent conversation he was making. He was definitely older than my parents (who are internet savvy, but still would not be able to talk certain technical terms. Even I was ignorant of the stuff he was talking). I just could not hold back my curiosity and I asked him directly, "uncle you seem very knowledgeable. But for your generation, computers are not known to everyone. How do you know so much." His answer was so inspiring. I think, it should become a motto of life for many. He said, ...

Few wonderful Blogs I have come across

Few very interesting blogs. I have recently come across few very interesting blogs, which I would like to share here. This blog is something which is like love at first site. Fantastic style, great photography, rich content, her DIY's are ...wow Fashezin Recently I came across a blog of a Delhite, I kind of knew (had been meeting frequently). Kalpana, is a woman, I would meet regularly on the dance floor. Across the room we would just smile at each other, and yet never exchange hi's and hellos. Recently when I saw her blog, I was very impressed. In fact, I was impressed with her blog, even before I knew who the writer was. It was later that I discovered that she is someone, I had been meeting/bumping into regularly.  It is kind of strange, kind of exciting story. Blogger brought us together to exchange our first Hi's and Hellos, despite the fact that we had met each other at, at least 100 parties. I discovered her multi faceted and talented personality through her blog. Bel...

Stagnate in Life or Emancipate

Recently a cousin of mine, who met me after ages, asked me, "So what are you doing these days?" I casually replied, "same old stuff-fitness". And he said, "hmm!! no you keep changing no..thats why I asked." I said, "Since 1996, I am in same field of fitness. How many jobs have you changed since then". And I know, he has changed quite a number. Now this may sound like a simple conversation. But on retrospect, I know, there was mockery, smirk, pasquinade hidden in his remark. Specially so, because whenever I have met him and his brother (which happens like once in say 2-3 years), they have asked me the same question in same manner. As a kid, (who was unsure of herself), such remark would make me jittery. I would try and find fault in me. But as a mature woman, who is now damn confident of herself, her work, her life, living on her own terms, this remark does not make me indulge in self assassination but makes me think, how foolish or a looser can t...

My maternal family

Image
I tried to have a family portrait. But- Trying to capture all my maternal family in one frame is impossible. I have 6 massis (my mom's sisters), 2 mamas (mom's brothers), then their sons, daughters, daughter in laws, son in laws and grandchildren. Added to this, as can be seen, all of them are endowed with super health  (yes. And I am a fitness trainer)

Celebrating it with Mom

Image
19th Feb is Mom's Birthday. It also happened to be a family member's wedding. So the whole family got together. And I got some time to spend with Mommie dearest. What am I wearing: Saree: Self designed. Off late, since I am stylizing people's wardrobe, I have got in touch with special weavers from different parts of the country. They customize the hand woven, traditional, sarees for me.  Jewelry: Bought from dad Neetu Chandra wore a similar sari here.
